You want to see some of my artwork too?
Aw fab, thanks for showing interest! Here’s an introduction to Becky Ryan Illustration.
I’ve always loved to draw and after completing my BTEC diploma in foundation art and design at art college I continued on to obtain a degree in Illustration whilst working at Tate Liverpool before I became a self employed artist and photographer. What I love about photography is that it allows me the opportunity to make a living in a profession where I can use my artistic flair and get creative and in turn hopefully bring something extra to my work that those without that passion or eye for an artistic image perhaps cannot.
My personal favourite things to draw when I have some free time are portraits, I’ve just always enjoyed capturing faces. In particular, some of my favourites from pop culture (Michael Fassbender and Louis Theroux can be seen below amongst a few other familiar faces) and also burlesque artists, they have such awesome style. My current favourite tools of choice are ballpoint pen on toned paper with white pencil to do some highlighting. I also like to get digital with my wacom tablet.
Below you can see examples of lots of my pieces, from paintings for art exhibitions, to EP illustrations, jewellery and flyer design work. If you have an idea for a piece and you would like to get in touch to discuss a commission, either wedding related or not, do drop me a message via the contact form.
I do limit how many commissions I take on each year, as it can just be difficult fitting them in around weddings, but I’m always happy to have an excuse to get the sketchbook out again!

Wedding Illustration
I started offering 10 minute digital mini portraits through my website over the past year and I’m now offering my illustration services at weddings.
During the quiet time between your ceremony and meal, or between your meal and evening dancing, I can do quick portraits of your guests. This is a new service I am offering as a standalone completely separate to my work as a photographer. As this is a new service I am currently offering a reduced rate.
Below is an example of my digital mini portraits, for wedding I will be doing illustrations in this style but in pen and ink for your guests to keep. Please get in touch for more information and a personal quote.
