Today I’m sharing viking re-enactors Nichola and James’ special day at Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel, Castle Donington. With an enchanted woodland fairytale theme, Nichola and James were never going to have a traditional modern wedding. The bride wore a completely bespoke dress in shades of lilac and purple from Birmingham’s Couture Company, including a sequined raven on her hip due to James’s Viking name translating to the bird! I thought it was such a sweet personal touch, and the detail on it was just gorgeous! For James they wanted to go down a regency/Poldark inspired look and they each complimented each other’s looks perfectly.
Being a big fan of the vintage inspired brand, Nichola chose some Vivien of Holloway dresses for her 3 bridesmaids.
Their wedding cake was made by Nichola’s own Auntie and was created to look like log slices to tie in with the theme. Instead of a traditional sit down dinner they went for afternoon tea (the sandwich to cake ratio got a big thumbs up from me) and finished the night with a ceilidh band in the barn hosting a dance!
Here are a few images from their beautiful day!
