Sophie and Callum’s wedding day was a wonderful explosion of colour and quirkiness. They were married in Buxton, Derbyshire, at the Pavillion Gardens before their reception in the Orchestra Pit of the Old Hall Hotel. Since Sophie booked her photography with me back in 2013 when I hadn’t long been shooting weddings professionally, we’ve met up quite a few times and she’s become a friend so it was a really enjoyable lovely relaxed day. Always knowing she wanted something different to the ‘traditional’ dress, bride Sophie wore a custom made blue lace dress from Matlock dressmakers Bella Figura along with gold accessories in the form of a gold What Katy Did Next crown and veil and the sparkliest gold shoes any bride could ask for from Irregular Choice. Callum complimented his bride perfectly, also going for blue for his suit, but in a more rich, vivid shade. Sophie chose a dried flower bouquet which she customised with some colourful ribbons around the stems. They brought their shared love of Harry Potter to the day through their ‘Marauder’s Map’ orders of service, a reading from one of the books during their ceremony, and their card postbox inspired by Lupin’s briefcase. Having recently been re-working her way through his Disney collection Sophie had also decided to bring Disney to their day through table centrepieces of Disney figures and an impressive Sleeping Beauty inspired bejewelled prop, handmade by Sophie, holding Disney postcards for guests to leave their messages on. They even had a Disney track for their first dance, I Wanna Be Like You!
Here’s is the story of their wonderful day (if you enjoy looking through this wedding do feel free to leave Sophie and Callum some love in the comments)
