A new recommended supplier for you guys today, a great wedding band made up of incredibly talented musicians, Jimmy & the Hound Dogs. Based in the West Midlands the guys specialise in classic rock n roll with a bit of added oomph!

“Playing all the hits from Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Chubby Checker, Bill Haley and The Comets, The Stray Cats and more; The Hound Dogs cover all the classics from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and even put their spin on some modern classics too!”

I never share recommendations of other wedding suppliers unless I’ve had personal experience of their work, but having seen these guys recently I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any brides and grooms to be looking for a band for their wedding. Especially if you’re looking for something with a vintage twist and are steering away from anything cheesy!

So earlier this year we headed back to  The Starlet Suite for our fourth fabulous vintage makeover shoot event, welcoming a new glorious group of starlets!

As always our wonderful makeover artists were Sarah Bloor of Pin Up Curl on hair and Bethany Jane Davies of The Vintage Beauty Parlour on make up (both of these ladies are available for weddings and I highly recommend checking them out)!

This was a pretty cool one as we had a whole bunch of previous starlets coming back to join us for a second time, which was a great compliment for us and The Starlet Suite events.

I just love doing these shoots at our amazing authentic venue and working with such a great team and I’m excited to share the results from our day with you…

We headed up to Curbar Edge in the beautiful Peak District for Matt and Madison’s engagement shoot earlier this year.  It was a fair drive up out there but going together meant getting to hear about all their plans for the big day and getting a preview of their wedding playlist (where I discovered you can’t not be in a good mood after so much upbeat country music).

The Canadian born bride and her Derbyshire groom to be will be having a small wedding with close friends and family in Upper Hulme in August.
