east quay wedding venuePINIMAGEMay was the month of shooting at some particularly awesome new, to me, wedding venues. For Kayleigh and Karl’s rockabilly inspired day I headed to one of my favourite locations, the seaside!

Kayleigh and Karl were married at the really cool East Quay Wedding Venue in Whitstable. Styled with pops of red and blue and vintage motifs of swallows and anchors, along with a rock n roll band for the reception, with fish and chips followed by ice cream (obviously a must for a wedding at the seaside). Just like the couple, it was ‘non-traditional’ in all the best ways.

(Thank you to my wonderful second shooter Lisa Dams of Blue Fox Photo.)

Self confessed ‘literature geeks’ Olivia and Jake were married at a book themed wedding at the stunning Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool on a gorgeous sunny day in May.

The bride and groom met whilst on an English Literature course and Jake proposed outside New York Public Library so incorporating their love of books into their day just made sense! Book flowers were used in the bouquets and buttonholes and their table plan was made up of some of their favourite book titles. They chose to have an afternoon tea inspired by the Mad Hatter’s tea party, and put together a book inspired sweet table (with food references taken from Roald Dahl and Harry Potter amongst others). With music from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings also being used during the day. Not to mention their incredible book themed wedding cake!

As well as being a fellow Hufflepuff, Olivia is also a fellow lover of 1950s style. She brought that to her and her bridesmaids style when choosing dresses and her make up for the day. I love how they were able to bring their interests together into such a gorgeous day with really beautiful styling. Anyway don’t take my word for it, see for yourselves…

PINIMAGEChristmas loving Charlie had talked about wanting a festive feel to her Winter wedding, or as festive as she felt they could get away with without being in December itself! With deep reds and leafy greens in and the bridal party bringing some sparkle and faux fur it definitely had that festive feel to the day.

This was a bit of a special one as it was the second wedding with both bride Charlie and bridesmaid Harriet, who had been one of my brides at her own wedding in Buxton just a couple of months earlier when Charlie was one of *her* bridesmaids! So it was really cool to see a lot of familiar faces again amongst the guests.

Thank you Charlie and Ian for giving me such a lovely wedding to round off my 2017 with!
