Annie and Adam got in touch with me towards the end of 2018 after coming across my work on social media and although already married, they loved the idea of having some nice natural portraits together to put up in their home. They had described their own wedding images as being more ‘staged’ than they had hoped and wished for some natural images together in some nearby countryside in Chesterfield. I love the fact that they didn’t let the fact that they are already married stop them from having a portrait shoot together to get some images in the style that they wanted.

Married or not, engaged or not, I really don’t feel that anyone should need an excuse to book a portrait session to capture themselves and their loved one together. Photographs are memories and some things just need capturing!

2018, what a whirlwind. It seemed to be over in the blink of an eye but looking back on it for this blog I realised quite how much I managed to fit in! From our fourth Starlet Suite to capturing the new arrivals of my past brides and grooms in several Home is Where the Heart is Family Shoots, it was another wonderful varied year for my business.

The year began with a Twin Peaks Styled Shoot collaboration with some wonderful local wedding suppliers, it’s well worth checking out if you haven’t already and you’re a fan of the series.

One of my new venues this year was down in Whitstable, a colourful rockabilly styled seaside wedding at East Quay Wedding Venue. Since being based in the middle of the country it’s always wonderful to have an excuse to get back to the coast and I’d love to shoot more pier and seaside weddings.

Thank you to all of my 2018 clients for enabling me to have another wonderful year doing something I love.
