Vintage Photoshoot

I like to keep myself busy out of wedding season, and keep snapping, so on a cold winter’s afternoon in Derbyshire my friend Cassie (who is keen on getting into modelling) and I ventured into a local woodland-esque park for a bit of a portrait session. I love my vintage looks, and Cassie was up for a bit of vintage makeover so I styled her in my Pin Up Girl clothing dress, some What Katie Did stockings, and a Collectif coat. Here are the results, I think she looks fab! If you’re a model looking to expand your portfolio and would like some new images, or you’re not a model but would still like some lovely images all the same just pop me an e-mail and let’s get it sorted!

So that’s it, my first full year as a professional photographer has come to an end, and what a year it was! Weddings in 2014 took me all over the country, from Eastbourne Pier right up into Northumberland and I have so many lovely memories to remember them by which I’ve tried to share with you all in this post featuring images from some of this year’s weddings. As usual, I struggled selecting the images for this post and should have really tried to whittle it down further but this was the best I could do, I hope it’s not too hard work to look through and that you still enjoy doing so!
We lost my Grandad this year, just a few months after my Nana, they’re very much thought of in everything I do and hope the significance of capturing loving moments between not only the happy couple but friends and family too comes across in my work as a photographer and capturing natural emotional images.
I want to say a great big ‘thank you so much!’ to all of the couples that chose me to play a part in their day, and to all my 2015 couples, I can’t wait to join you for each one of your wonderful weddings, see you soon!Becky xoxo

David and Grace knew how to put themselves into their special day, combining two loves, vintage style and…Leicester City football club!
Bride Grace went for victory rolls and an original vintage wedding dress for her big day with Groom, David. Sharing a love for Leicester City, they incorporated the fox motif into their order of service, place settings and on their wedding cake.
Music lovers the pair also chose an acoustic duo for the afternoon and a full band to get the party started in the evening.
It was a really fun day, thanks for letting me be a part of it guys!

We’re up in beautiful Yorkshire today for Nirmala and Dan’s Craven Arms, Skipton, wedding. They went for a rustic, bohemian, pretty, vintage fusion styled day with a super informal, non-traditional diy feel. Nirmala wore a stunning true vintage lace dress with a flower crown.  Her lovely brooch bouquet had been made by her Mum from items she had been collecting over the years. Nirmala’s her bridesmaids wore 1950s style polka dot and floral dresses.
The couple chose a loose ‘tea and cake’ theme for the day, as it had played an important part in the early days of their relationship. In Nirmala’s initial contact email to me she described how they spent a year travelling around in their campervan drinking tea and eating cake up in the Lake District! Bride Nirmala collected vintage tea caddies and tea pots to use as table centrepieces, and the favours had a wonderful personal touch, mugs made by the groom himself who has a talent for pottery. Instead of a traditional single wedding cake Nirmala and Dan opted for a selection of cakes! (What’s better than one wedding cake? many wedding cakes!) The tables were beautifully decorated with wildflowers in the caddies collected by Nirmala with handmade bunting and fairy lights all around the hall where the ceremony and reception took place.
The morning before the wedding day the couple had completely the ‘legal bit’ at a registry office, and in the evening were joined by friends and family at the campsite they were staying at just down the road from the Craven Arms, for a hand fasting ceremony.
Here is the story of their wedding day!
