Quentin Tarantino themed wedding with a pin up styled bridal party anyone?! Yeah this wedding was as stunning as it sounds! Emma and Gary chose to theme their wedding around their shared love of Tarantino films, and Emma brought her love of vintage style to her own look for the day and for her bridal party. She bought her wedding dress and her bridesmaids dresses from Vivien of Holloway and accessorised with fascinators created by bridesmaid Sara. Having previously done the legal bit at a registry office their the venue for the day, Rebellion, a rock bar in Manchester, was where the bride and groom first met! Having never hosted a wedding before, Rebellion made an exception for Gary and Emma due to their sentimental connection with the bar. The wedding car was a friend’s Ford Capri customised to resemble the car from Tarantino’s film Death Proof, and their wedding cake toppers were Funko Pop vinyl figures of Butch from Pulp Fiction (to represent Gary), and Kill Bill’s O-Ren Ishii (representing Emma), their closest lookalikes from the Tarantino Funko figures out there. Their venue and tables and were decorated by the couple themselves and named after Tarantino’s films, with their soundtracks playing in the venue throughout the day. Food for the evening was hot dogs, fries, and nachos made to order right outside the bar. To cover dessert, donuts along with wedding cake cupcakes frosted in the colours of the day, red and yellow. It really was a gorgeous today with seriously impressive and well thought out DIY styling by the newlyweds themselves. Thank you so much for having me along for the ride guys, three words for you, you’re so cool!
This. Wedding. Was. AWESOME
Just check out the gorgeous colours! Emma and Gary chose to theme their wedding around their shared love of Tarantino films, and Emma brought her love of pin up vintage style to her own look for the day and for her bridal party. They held their wedding day at the place where they first met (how cool is that?!), Rebellion, a rock bar in Manchester. Here are some previews from their day, I can’t wait to share the full blog post for this wedding with you guys!
Today I’m sharing viking re-enactors Nichola and James’ special day at Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel, Castle Donington. With an enchanted woodland fairytale theme, Nichola and James were never going to have a traditional modern wedding. The bride wore a completely bespoke dress in shades of lilac and purple from Birmingham’s Couture Company, including a sequined raven on her hip due to James’s Viking name translating to the bird! I thought it was such a sweet personal touch, and the detail on it was just gorgeous! For James they wanted to go down a regency/Poldark inspired look and they each complimented each other’s looks perfectly.
Being a big fan of the vintage inspired brand, Nichola chose some Vivien of Holloway dresses for her 3 bridesmaids.
Their wedding cake was made by Nichola’s own Auntie and was created to look like log slices to tie in with the theme. Instead of a traditional sit down dinner they went for afternoon tea (the sandwich to cake ratio got a big thumbs up from me) and finished the night with a ceilidh band in the barn hosting a dance!
Here are a few images from their beautiful day!
I’d like to introduce you guys to a particularly awesome doggy, Watson, affectionately known by his nickname ‘Wobbly’ Watson due to his wobbly legs. Unfortunately Watson’s family were recently told that the cause for his wobbliness is down to a rare neurological disorder whereby the wires in the brain controlling balance are slowly dying off. Sadly it isn’t treatable and will get worse, but he’s such a lively lovely young dog (only 2) and he doesn’t let it get to him.
Eve got in touch to say she was minding Watson for a week while his owners, her Mum and Step Dad, were away on holiday and that’d she’d love to have some portraits of him done to surprise them with. I filmed a little video on the day too.
It was so lovely to be able to provide them with portraits of beautiful Watson. He’s definitely a much loved doggy.
I’d love to do more pet portraits so if you have a furry friend you’d like capturing do get in touch.
