Wedding Highlights Video Swancar Farm

Fabulously tattooed bride Laura and rock musician husband-to-be Jonathan got in touch with me earlier this year after seeing one of my wedding highlights videos online. They had decided they wanted that something extra to remember their day by alongside their photographs.

They were married at Swancar Farm, a rustic country house and hotel venue in Trowell, Nottinghamshire.

Although a very ‘alternative’ couple on initial appearance, they went against expectations on their wedding day. With their tattoos, piercings, love of horror movies and rock music, they could have been expected to go down an unconventional route. However, bride Laura told me how she had always wanted to go down a traditional route when it came to her wedding. Feeling like it was perhaps something her guests wouldn’t expect, she told me how she just wanted a traditional and romantic day. I found that really sweet. She’s right, because you can’t beat simple good old fashioned romance! And I love the fact that they didn’t feel pressured into having a more unconventional wedding.

They did their wedding their way, which is the main thing. Of course there was room for a bit of Disney/fairytale inspired wedding styling, which she had spotted on my blog earlier this year! (Also, Laura was rocking those Minnie Mouse ears).

Lucy and Leah / Fazeley Studios Birmingham Wedding Photography

A bright and colourful Birmingham wedding

Fitness trainer Lucy met Lincoln-lady Leah when they were placed into the same halls at university. Lucy and Leah were married in the fabulous space of Fazeley Studios in the area of Digbeth, Birmingham. It was great to return to this quirky venue for a second time for another lovely wedding. Situated near Birmingham’s creative quarter The Custard Factory, the street-art nearby makes a fab backdrop for quirky and colourful portraits. The venue itself is a bright and airy open space with lots of natural light. Also, the white walls make for a great blank canvas for those wanting to have some bright pops of colours in their styling like Leah and Lucy. I loved their wedding cake made by their guest Becky complete with lego bride toppers and rainbow coloured hearts on each tier.

Lucy and Leah had decided to keep the day relaxed by choosing to get ready together and greet some of their guests on their arrival at the venue before the ceremony, mostly just close family though, and they sneaked into a side room whilst everyone waited in the main room to be seated for the main event.

They walked down the aisle together each in arm with their proud fathers, who couldn’t have looked happier heading down that aisle with their beautiful daughters on their wedding day.

Urbano / Fat Cat Cafe Nottingham

An evening of salsa, bachata, and kizomba in Nottingham town centre

PINIMAGEI’ve shot a couple of dance events now for Billy Homano of Urbano and it’s such a fun thing to capture. Having started salsa and bachata classes myself it’s great to have the opportunity to combine it with my photography. Offering classes in salsa, bachata, and kizomba locally, Urbano were looking to further promote their events at this particular venue. It makes such a pretty location for dancing don’t you think? These images were taken at a kizomba class and social night at Fat Cat’s Cafe in Nottingham city centre. Maybe they’ll inspire you to check out an event in person?
