A bright and colourful Birmingham wedding

Fitness trainer Lucy met Lincoln-lady Leah when they were placed into the same halls at university.  Lucy and Leah were married in the fabulous space of Fazeley Studios in the area of Digbeth, Birmingham. It was great to return to this quirky venue for a second time for another lovely wedding. Situated near Birmingham’s creative quarter The Custard Factory, the street-art nearby makes a fab backdrop for quirky and colourful portraits. The venue itself is a bright and airy open space with lots of natural light. Also, the white walls make for a great blank canvas for those wanting to have some bright pops of colours in their styling like Leah and Lucy.  I loved their wedding cake made by their guest Becky complete with lego bride toppers and rainbow coloured hearts on each tier.

Lucy and Leah had decided to keep the day relaxed by choosing to get ready together and greet some of their guests on their arrival at the venue before the ceremony, mostly just close family though, and they sneaked into a side room whilst everyone waited in the main room to be seated for the main event.

They walked down the aisle together each in arm with their proud fathers, who couldn’t have looked happier heading down that aisle with their beautiful daughters on their wedding day.

Thank you so much for inviting me to document such a lovely day ladies! I hope you have an amazing future together!

An evening of salsa, bachata, and kizomba in Nottingham town centre

urbano fat cat cafe nottinghamPINIMAGEI’ve shot a couple of dance events now for Billy Homano of Urbano and it’s such a fun thing to capture. Having started salsa and bachata classes myself it’s great to have the opportunity to combine it with my photography.  Offering classes in salsa, bachata, and kizomba locally, Urbano were looking to further promote their events at this particular venue. It makes such a pretty location for dancing don’t you think?  These images were taken at a kizomba class and social night at Fat Cat’s Cafe in Nottingham city centre.  Maybe they’ll inspire you to check out an event in person? For more information on the classes head to the Urbano Facebook page.  Get those dancing shoes out!

If you have an event coming up that you’d like me to photograph then do get in touch via the contact link above!

fazeley studios wedding photographyPINIMAGEIt was lovely to return to Fazeley Studios, a wedding venue in Birmingham, in October for a second time to capture another lovely couple. This time it was the turn of Lucy and Leah…

Having first met in halls at university, self confessed fitness junkies Lucy and Leah wanted their day to be a fun, colourful celebration of their love for one another. Here are just a few previews from their day before I share a full blog in a few weeks!

Carly and Simon were married at newly established wedding venue, The West Mill, Derby. Situated in Darley Abbey just a little outside Derby centre this venue is perfect for couples looking for something a little bit different and Simon and Carly knew on viewing that it was very them! Bride Carly looked like a vintage movie star in her bespoke dress which she helped to design herself. It contrasted fabulously with the quirky textured, industrial feel to the walls of the venue. I love getting to travel all over the country for my weddings, but sometimes it’s great to get to stay close to home too, and it’s fab to now have a quirky wedding venue for local brides and grooms to be. Emigrating to America after the wedding, it was a significant day for the couple not just for the legality of becoming husband and wife but to have a final get together with close family and friends before the move.

Thank you so much for inviting me to play a part in your day, Carly and Simon. I’d like to wish you and your little family all the very best with your new life across the pond!
